Terre Haute is a crossroad for rail. CSX Transportation, a Class I rail provider, and the Indiana Rail Road, a shortline rail service provider, operate hundreds of miles of track here.

​CSX operates and maintains nearly 2,600 miles of track in Indiana and handles more than 2.9 million carloads of freight on the state's rail newtwork. Indiana Rail Road is a privately-held railroad with 250 miles of track and hauls upwards of 800,000 truckloads of freight.

Terre Haute Regional Airport, Hulman Field (HUF) provides general aviation and military operations including unmanned systems and top-flight university programming. Hulman Field features a 24-hour FAA Control Tower with multiple precision approaches on our 9,020-foot long primary runway and a 7,200 cross-wind runway. Hulman Field is home to the Indiana Air National Guard 181st Intelligence Wing and Aerotech Park.
